Is tracking the growth of federal laws – and new police departments to enforce them – becoming a computationally intractable problem? It seems that way. Heads up to our soon-to-be-graduates: some of you will become employed to use computers to decipher whether laws have been broken. Others of you will soon be the target of such investigations without realizing you might have been breaking a law. Let us know what you think about laws that require a field guide for recognizing when you’ve done right or wrong.
