Is tracking the growth of federal laws – and new police departments to enforce them – becoming a computationally intractable problem? It seems that way. Heads up to our soon-to-be-graduates: some of you will become employed to use computers to decipher whether laws have been broken. Others of you will soon be the target of such investigations without realizing you might have been breaking a law.
