The net may have rallied in defense of freedom and due process when it stopped SOPA in its tracks, but … think again. In taking down Megaupload, the feds just exercised power as if SOPA had passed. That’s right. It shut down a service, caused people to be arrested outside our borders, and seized or froze millions of dollars of assets based only on an allegation. Can you say “due process”? Apparently the Obama administration can’t.
