Can an EU right to “forget” – intended as a protection of privacy for users – give a right to remove real (but unflattering) content from a search engine? That’s what is at stake with litigation heating up in Spain, stoked by a locality that has tried to sustain a tourist industry but has with a real – albeit very unpleasant – profile on the web because of a tragedy there some years ago.
