“Terms of Service” violations are not criminal acts under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, according to a 9th Circuit ruling just handed down. The judges opted for a narrower interpretation of the otherwise broad CFAA, which might have made even simple acts (such as accessing personal email from a work computer) into criminal activity.
