Fueled by demand from an industry intent on soaking up all the DHS-cash possible and enabled by state government pandering, the training of cybersecurity “experts” continues at a breakneck pace. In this market you can sell “cyber toothpaste” whether or not it even makes sense. And this will continue until the bottom falls out of that market, perhaps one change of administration away from consumers asking what we actually get for such a huge redistribution of cash.

Our students should watch that market closely but continue to prepare with content and skill sets that are more enduring, enabling success not only in short-term ‘cyber pandering’ but in long-view leadership roles.
