Yet another way to have your authoritative personal information taken and compiled into a database is by doing product returns or exchanges, an activity which is most common around the holiday gift buying (and exchanging) season. Retailers increasingly will not do an exchange or refund without scanning your driver’s license for insertion into a national retailer database.
