Sometimes these days we forget that privacy is not just informational privacy.

The case of two lacrosse players who were suspended over “weapons violations” and more in Maryland moves to federal court. These students had a small knife and lighter for purposes of mending lacrosse sticks, which were found during an unconstitutional search at an event. They received suspensions, with impact far beyond the few number of days affected. Their case in school was reversed, but because of the impact, they are seeking an award for damages.
