DHS Cancels License Plata Data Gathering

In an abrupt shift by federal authorities, a proposal to allow a private company to grant government access to a national database of license plate tracking data has been overhauled. License plate data is location data, so this is an interesting (although possibly temporary) win for privacy advocates.
