“The Surveillance Society” is a fascinating article published in Time Magazine that explores how technological advances have made it relatively cheap for the government to collect and store, perhaps indefinitely, vast amounts of personal data on U.S. citizens. Most Americans (4 out of 5 polled by the Pew Research Center in July 2013) do not trust the government to limit its use of private data to counter-terrorism operations.
