In a suit against Baltimore police over alleged violations of 4th and 14th amendment rights, the Department of Justice has asked the federal judge to hold against the police department. At issue is, once again, police over-reaching their authorities in response to ordinary citizens taping police activity in public. (Plaintiff avers that an officer confiscated his phone and deleted images of their handling of another incident.) Baltimore is fighting the matter.
