What was the quality of jobs data reported to voters prior to the 2012 presidential election?
Poor. Worse than poor … apparently it was faked.
Employees at Census who were tasked with conducting interviews in the sampling operating simply filled in data how they wanted – or as someone wanted it filled in – whenever respondents were unavailable or chose not to participate. This calls into question whether they were even asked.
The jobs data artificially showed a strengthening economy at a time when it was really still stagnant, giving a rosier picture of Obama administration as voters decided his reelection.
