Licensed strippers in Washington are litigating the impending release of their private information. Except of course, their information became no longer private the moment they became ‘licensed’ – that’s the nature of licensing, which is intended to protect the public from possible harm from professionals who might otherwise provide some service inexpertly. Public information laws are of course one of the several ways that citizens can independently confirm that professional licenses are being meted out correctly.

What’s at issue here is why Washington needs to license strippers in the first place.
